Haul: More Etude House Love + Announcement

Friday, April 12, 2013

Okay. I think I may be a tad bit obsessed. The number of Etude House reviews on this blog has much exceeded those of all other brands combined so I had to add a whole new label just for those reviews and posts LOL. I hope you guys don't mind.

I'm honestly not a huge girly-girl. Or at least I wasn't. When I was in grade school I was that girl who wore all black and loved cargo pants and baggy clothing. It was still stylish, but it wasn't very versatile. It's probably why more than half my wardrobe is still black, but I've been making moves to expand it more color-wise :P And yes, I still happen to wear some clothes that I owned in elementary. Damn you lack of growth! I think I stopped growing in sixth grade. Seriously =_=

That being said, Etude House has been a huge step in reforming my view of beauty and fashion. And while pink still isn't my favorite color (I'm more fond of red, coral, turquoise and apple green), Etude house pulls it off so well. It's no wonder people fall in love with their products at first glance. Ugh, the horrors of competitive marketing LOL. I mean, really. Look at the products below and tell me you would be able to resist buying them. I bet you can't. Or you probably could, I just have really bad self control :P

Okay, let me justify myself a bit. Some of these products I bought out of actual need and some of these products I bought for another reason which I will be revealing later, so stay tuned hahaha. Either way some of these products might actually seem familiar to you, since I've already included them in some of my previous posts [1] [2]. The others are new. I'm actually really excited about quite a few of them and will be reviewing them over the course of April, so I hope you guys look forward to that!

I'm not going to go through everything I got - just the stuff that I've been using a lot lately.

The first surprise fave is Etude's Drawing Show Brush Liner in BR401. After having been thoroughly impressed by their Drawing Show Dot Liner and was looking for a good brown liquid liner so I thought why the heck not? The tester at the boutique was also pretty impressive so I had no qualms about purchasing this. You'll be seeing this baby in action pretty soon.

Next up on one of my more exciting buys is my first ever purchase of an Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher. I got mine in #10 Peach Parfait because I find that peach blushes suit my yellow undertoned skin quite nicely. After having purchased Etude's Cupcake All Over Color, I found that the color last so much longer and stays more vibrant if I set it with a sheer powdered blush which is exactly this. The powder puff also reminds me of those old makeup puffs from my childhood haha. It was almost a pity to use it :P

The next product is a lip glass that's almost going off shelves soon. I caught it just in time. It's actually really interesting. the Pink Tonic Lip Glass starts out as a clear gloss but ends up as a stain over time. I purchased it with the intent of having a nice clear gloss, but was pleasantly surprised that when I tried it, it left a nice long lasting tint after the gloss fades. I had no idea about this when I tested it, but I found that the swatch I did on my hand turned a faint peach pink a few minutes after leaving the boutique. The tonic also has a slight plumping effect so essentially, this product is a 3-in-1. Amazing, huh?

The next product was one of those 'need' purchases. I'm quickly running out of my Chistian Dior Dior Snow compact so I'm looking for a quick replacement until I get a new one. I saw this in the boutique and thought, 'there's no harm in trying new things'. Etude has a huge selection of pressed powders, but this one was a little darker than my skintone (I'm expecting to get a little bit of a tan this summer), plus it had SPF without being too reflective so this was an obvious buy. I got the Precious Mineral BB Compact Bright Fit in W34 Caramel Beige.

Next up was also somewhat of a need. I got the Drawing Eye Brow #01 pencil because I just ran out of my fave brush powder D: I had tried brow pencils before but the ones I'd tried were always too creamy and looked ridiculously unnatural, but when I swatched this on my hand it looked almost like a kohl and suited my hair perfectly. It's retractable and comes with a brush on the other end for blending. Definitely a lifesaver.

And last but not least a new addition to my Look at My Eyes Cafe line collection. Look at My Eyes Cafe Eyeshadow in BR401 Cafe Latte is more of a red-toned brown and is really nice if you still want that neutral eye but with a pop of warm color. I've been using this everyday lately and I'll probably be using it for the rest of the summer.

In addition to these, I also got a new pair of false lashes, Etude's Natural False Lashes as well as some makeup accessories from the Sweet Recipe Line - Sweet Recipe Sliced Cake Puffs and the Sweet Recipe Chocostick Shadow Brush.

You guys are now probably wondering why I would go through such great lengths to get these. After all, I already have a huge collection of Etude Products. Well, here comes the big announcement. I'm in the running to be Etude House Philippines' new Pink Artiste for the year of 2013.
