In general, the Drawing Show Line and other products in the collection like the Drawing Show Dot Liner, are geared toward more dramatic but quick to apply liquid eyeliner that's pen-type and really easy to use. If you've read my earlier review on the dot liner you'll understand what I mean.
The Claims
According to the packaging:
Etude House Drawing Show Brush Liner is a Brush pen eyeliner that conveniently produces smooth, clean lines for stark definition.
The instructions are pretty straightforward and essentially not very helpful unless you're really used to using pen liners.
All in all you get 0.6 grams (0.02 ounces) of product net weight which may seem like a little, but this baby packs a punch and is actually heavier than a normal felt tip pen (more product!). But like the Drawing Show Dot Liner, the packaging is matte, so it's pretty easy to get dirty! Take care when packing this with loose powder as it'll stick like glue to the matte surface of the pen!
The Brush
The Drawing Show Brush Liner comes with a very well made tapered brush end that dispenses product evenly and hassle free on the lid. It's really easy to manipulate and although it's a brush, it glides on almost like you're using a really flexible felt tip marker. For artists out there familiar with manga pen paintbrushes, the feel and tip of this eyeliner is very similar. You can see how thin and tapered the brush is below, allowing for precision application. The brush, amazingly, also remains soaked with product even if you don't store it upside down! That's a major problem with a lot of pen-type products. I've had this for a while now and it hasn't dried out at all!
The Application; The Wear
The range of lines and strokes you can actually do with this liner IMO is a little bit limited, but with the skill and a light hand, you can actually achieve a pretty thin line.
The color is a nice rich solid brown which is more subtle than the usual black, but is intense enough to give a dramatic solid line for those strong liner looks. The finish is semi-shiny and flat at the same time and the consistency isn't as liquid as U.S. brand felt tip liners from my experience. The polymers actually work to give it a very long-lasting finish that's quick drying and semi-rubberized.
This liner is RUB-PROOF and on my lids is also Smudge Proof (I can't vouch for people with exteremely oily lids though). And while this product doesn't claim to be waterproof, it's pretty water resistant, which basically implies that this is rain-proof, but not swim-proof. Under running water, the liner stays put and doesn't leak or come off. And if you don't disturb it, once it's dried, it's virtually as untouchable as it was when you first applied it. But gentle rubbing while will cause it to flake off, which is actually a really good thing for a few reasons. 1) It's not a pain to remove, and 2) at least when it's wet, you don't get panda eyes. It's a lot easier to touch up!
Below is how I've usually been doing my makeup everyday! I use this brown liner even for my lower lash line and there's no smudging! Just a nice tapered line! It's really very easy to use and manipulate as well and it's great for tapered lining when you want to wing your liner out.
Here are the two ways I usually use this brush. The first is for Droopy Doll Winged Liner which follows the contour of the upper lashline rather than the lower lashline. And the second is Cat Winged Liner which follows the contour of the lower lashline for a more dramatic look.
The Droopy Doll Winged Liner
The Cat Winged Liner
The way you line your eyes has a dramatic effect on their apparent shape so try switching up your liner once in a while to see what type of eyeliner works for you! Both of the liner looks above are really easy to achieve with the Etude House Drawing Show Brush Liner. It's really perfect for giving the illusion of Dolly Eyes and because it's brown, isn't as harsh (it's more wearable!).
I also used this pen liner for my Summer Belle Tutorial entry for the Etude House Philippines Pink Artiste Contest.

All in all this was a pleasant surprise for a purchase.
In Summary:
Pros:
Convenient to Carry around
Easy pen-type application
Good for tapered lining/winging
Nice Solid brown color
Smudge/Rub Proof on my lids
Water resistant
Easy to Remove
Long lasting, doesn't fade!
No running/panda eyes
Pen doesn't dry out even when not stored upside-down.
Cons:
Matte packaging might be easy to get dirty.
Just a few signs of flaking.
May be difficult to use for beginners.
EDIT: I tried this liner on a friend of mine with oily lids and it didn't adhere very well and the finish was uneven. People with oily lids might want to swatch before committing to this product, but otherwise, this works perfectly! :)
EDIT EDIT: My friend tried it out with an eyeshadow primer (Urban Decay) and the finish was much more even! So a tip for those with oily lids: eyeshadow primer works like a charm!
