So last Monday, I went to school for a sales meetup where one lucky girl claimed her Hey! Say! JUMP uchiwas and clearfiles, but since it was early I decided to go around the mall for awhile. In a few minutes I found myself in the Etude House Boutique of SM North EDSA haha.
I had originally gone in to look for their Goodbye Pore Ever Pore Primer Stick (ahahaha Etude House, Y U SO PUNNY?) but when I went it was all sold out. *sadface*
Not wanting to go home empty handed, I ended up buying one of the lipsticks from their new "Dear My Blooming Lipst-talk" line (again, Y U SO PUNNY?). You know the line which Dara endorses by writing the names of SHINee and on a Kiss Note Notebook reminiscent of the Death Note Anime series which magically gets them to kiss her?
Yep, that's the one.
I got the color in BE102, which looks nothing like how it does on the picture on their website by the way. It's a wonderful neutral nude color which is very different from the usually bright-almost-neon shades most Korean makeup outlets usually sell. It's basically a my-lip-color-but-better type of color which suits my skin tone. That's actually why I got it. That and the fact that it looks exactly like my Victoria's Secret Perfect Lipstick (which I have just run out of) in their Hello, Bombshell! Makeup Kit.
I also got two of their Juicy Cocktail Gradation Nail Polish sets in #1 and #3 (coral and purple respectively)
I actually already did my nails in the coral colored polish set, but I'll save that for another post in the future. But what I can say about these polishes is that they're pretty worth it for 348php a set. They're quite decent on their own as well, plus they aren't streaky or gloppy. I have bad experiences with gradation nail polishes, especially the cheaper ones from Daiso or Japan Home and I always thought you know, you get what you pay for, but damn, these are cheap and good. More on those later.
So I went up to the counter to pay for these, and then the saleslady pointed out my school I.D. (yeah, I keep on forgetting to remove it when I'm not in school) and told me that they were having a special promo for students! Booyah! So I got myself these freebies as well:
In all honestly, I don't read Candy Magazine unless I'm at the salon and have nothing better to do, but the free hair treatment (which I doubt will be enough for my one-foot-eight-inch-hair) and Pure 'n Fresh Intimate Wash (it always makes me giggle to say that out loud) were a welcome surprise. As I was paying, the lady went on and told me she'd give me a free Play Etude SHINee Tin and Memo pad as well. This was by far the most exciting of them all haha.
The Tin is so cute I might die.
Inside is the memo pad! (that I may never ever use)
Close-up of the Memo Pad
SHINee, Y U SO CUTE!?
And because I had purchased more than 500php worth of products, I got a free Etude House Pink Membership Card as well. Hahaha. Now isn't that fun?
Ahaha I'm sure I sound like such a n00b right now with me making all this fuss about a bunch of freebies, but the truth is, if you have a minimum purchase of 500/1000/2000 etc you get freebies too :P btw, I'm not getting paid to say anything about Etude House, I'm just being a very thorough blogger as I usually am.
Anyway, I also made a trip to Forever21 earlier on, about two weeks ago and thought it would be appropriate to include here what I got since it was quite a steal (as all F21 things usual are).
Can you believe that the set on the left only cost 225 and the set on the right only cost 175? 400php for eight pairs of eerrings which aren't so bad design and quality-wise. Just make sure not to wear them two days in a row without removal or into water lest your ears turn green from copper tinting most likely haha.
After SM North, I made my way to the Saizen (the Philippine equivalent of Daiso) in Trinoma and got a few things for my cousin.
Personally, I'm not one for budget store cosmetics and their legitimacy so I questioned why she even bothered with these. She told me that I was free to go ahead and try them, and try them I did. I can't say much for the charcoal cleansing cream - it has this odd smell that I can't really tolerate, but the nose-pack-peel whatever is pretty legit haha. Tell me if you guys want more in-depth reviews on these.
And that was pretty much it. I'm sure I have some male readers out there, so excuse me for this rather girly post. This is a personal blog after all and with that comes an array of topics to be discussed, be it music, zombies, movies, makeup, etc. Sorry about that!
Ada, signing out. xoxo

ETUDE!!!!! xDDD I love the nail polish!!!! and also the lipstick~ :3
Haha. Yeah. Etude Hoiuse and TheFACEShop are my two favorite Korean boutiques <3
The only I only have two purple polishes, one from O.P.I. and the other one from Elianto (which was sort of a flop), so I didn't have any reservations buying this. If you already have a lot of purple ones though, they have the individual polishes in the set as stand-alone polishes so you might be able to create your own gradient nail by just purchasing one color of the three haha :P
Thanks for the comment!
Lol I'm sure there are people selling them online (some even for a fraction of the cost). But don't worry, the Korean invasion is upon us. You'll be seeing these shops in no time I'm sure.
Thanks for the comment!
we have an Etude House here in my city, but the price was really too expensive for my pocket ;P
ahahahaha...
Really? That's odd, because Etude House has the reputation of selling really cheap stuff both in Korea and in the Philippines x_x I wonder if they might have hiked up the price in Indonesia? :o But I can't blame you for being frugal. It's a good thing! At least you don't end up buying things at first sight like I almost always do haha
err.. it's because the prices in Indonesia are quite cheap, too cheap actually xDD
like I have this nail pen(? it's like a correction ink, but it has two colors, black and pink, that you can use to decorate your nails by drawing with it? quite confusing huh?) that costed me IDR 50,000 or US$ 5, and with IDR 50,000 I can have 10 full meals
so for us the prices are quite expensive xDDD
noo, I do that almost all the time yo xD
SHINee!! I love my tin, keke. Hooray for freebies from Etude House!
