I'm glad my ice cream NOTD got such a good response, and like I promised at the end of the post, the next review will be on Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base in #02 Berry Choux.
Hehe, my bottle got lugged around a bit hence the messy cap, but it doesn't change how pretty the packaging is and how yummy the product looks and smells.
First thing's first lemme give you guys a rundown on the product.
The Claims
'This light and fluffy choux cream-like makeup base creates baby choux skin with its moist inside and soft smoothness on the outside'
'Recipe for Baby Choux Skin:
You need... clean skin, baby choux base, 1 spoon of Moisture, 2 spoons of Soft Smoothness'
Yehp, that's all from the packaging hahaha. I think it's pretty cute, while some may think it's tacky. This product was designed as a base for smooth complexion to act as a canvas for the rest of your makeup. The texture really is a lot like cream. If you've baked, I'd compare the texture to a less sticky royal icing - fluffy, smooth and airy. It smells absolutely amazing - like strawberry icing to be exact. When you put it on your face it leaves a faint fresh smell of berries which disappears after a while. I had to stop myself from licking the product off my fingers haha.
This product also has SPF25, PA++ so it's awesome for UV protection as well~!
How to Use
Since this is essentially a base, it's designed to be the first layer of makeup you use after moisturizing, after which you're free to apply BB Cream, Powder, Blush, etc. However, I find that on my skin, this base works best alone or with just a thin layer of setting powder on top.
Berry Choux in particular is a baby pink cream which brightens complexions. The other variants, Mint Choux and Peach Choux were designed for red-tone neutralization and yellow-toned skin respectively. Berry Choux does a really good job of evening out my skin tone, smoothing out my skin and brightening it. You can pretty much see how it gives my skin a lively glow from the pictures below.
Without Berry Baby Choux Base
Just eye makeup and Cupcake All Over Color + gloss on my lips because I was experimenting haha. Contact Lenses from Dull to Doll
Dull lifeless looking skin :( And yes, my face is really naturally lighter than my neck D: It sucks.
NO PROBLEM!
Bright, soft, smooth, lively skin!
Coverage and ConsistencyDo you guys see the difference? I hope you do D: My camera doesn't seem to do the product justice. In real life my skin looks super glowy, soft and smooth and the product feels nice on my skin. Not oily or anything. It's almost like a semi-dewy semi-matte-ifying cream. And it doesn't just whiten. It's hard to explain. It's more like it brightens your skin and makes it look younger and healthier!
It works so well on my skin even my dark undereyes that I don't need concealer, but of course you can still use concealer as you see fit if this doesn't give you as much coverage as you'd want :) You can choose to set it with powder or not depending on the finish you want. I prefer setting mine with a very thin layer of powder for a matte yet somehow dewy finish.
Below is my completed look with my entire face covered with Berry Baby Choux, a light dust of setting powder, some nose contouring and some cheek balm :)
Eyes: Etude House Look at my Eyes Cafe Shadows + Drawing Show Dot Liner + Etude House Under Lash 33 + Kiss EverEZLashes
Face: Etude House Berry Baby Choux Base + Etude House Cupcake All Over Color + setting powder
Lips: Etude House Cupcake All Over Color + gloss
I love my Berry Baby Choux Base!
Just another closeup shot just so you can see how smooth and baby soft this base makes my skin~
Hahaha. What sorcery is this!?!? I couldn't help but take advantage of the combination of my makeup, hair and outfit to camwhore. Don't judge me LOL.
And I'm not sure if this was just me, but at the end of the day when I washed the product off, my skin felt soooooo smooth and soft afterward, and it was also visibly brighter. This has been consistent, so I'm not so sure if it's part of the effects this gives or if there's just some special magical reaction of the ingredients to my skin ahaha.
Hmmm, other than that, there seems to be something else different about my face today. Don't I look more naturally flushed and colored? Hohoho. It's all thanks to Etude House's Cupcake All Over Color, which I'll be reviewing on my next post (ALL FIVE COLORS!). Stay tuned!
I used Orange Choux Cake and Stawberry Short Cake for my cheeks and lips.
So what do you guys think? Hope I didn't bother you guys too much with my vanity LOL. These are now available in Etude House Boutiques in the Philippines. So go ahead and check them out! I might review the other variants when I get them, so I hope you all look forward to that!
