Nothing big exactly. I purchased these items in the hopes that I could replicate my long-standing makeup routine with these products (as I find them a lot more accessible than what I usually use).
First up, I purchased three eye shadows (Etude House Look at My Eyes), all matte neutral shades. Whoo, exciting right?
I actually had the intention of purchasing Etude House's Look At My Dolly 3 Step Eyes #1 (also alternatively named Dolly 3-Step Eyes in Cute Doll), which just so happens to have almost the exact same shades in a palette that is almost 200 pesos cheaper than having to buy the shades individually.
See what I mean?
But because they ran out, I was forced to buy them individually. For people who just want the individual shades, they are from the matte line of Etude House's Look at My Eyes Eyeshadow, Cafe. The exact shades I bought were Look at My Eyes Cafe in BR402 Cafe Mocha, BE102 Honey Milk, and BE101 Banana Latte (from darkest to lightest).
I'm not going to lie, I'm not exactly the most adventurous when it comes to my makeup. When I find that something works, I stick to it. Which is why I've been nursing my ginormous E.L.F. 100 Piece Eyeshadow Palette when really I only ever use fewer than ten of the shades on there regularly (I reason that the rest I shall save for a special occasion). It is for this same reason that the shades of Eyeshadow I purchased from Etude House were a little on the dull side. I often have trouble finding eye shadows I like from EH because most of them are pearled or include fine glitter in them, but finding matte eyeshadow was like finding an oasis a midst a desert ahaha. I'll be sure to go for more exciting matte shades from their CAFE line in the future :P
Next up, I bought a new felt-tipped liquid liner, as my current one is almost completely dried up.
This one, Drawing Show Dot Liner intrigued me, especially with it's uniquely shaped tip. According to the packaging,
"Drawing Show Dot Liner brush pen eyeliner conveniently produces smooth, clean lines for stark definition."
Upon testing it in the boutique I found that it also actually had some pretty nifty staying power to it and it's also quite intensely black, so I thought, why not give it a try? Plus, the tester at the boutique hadn't gone dry even after (I presume) multiple uses, so that's a good sign, right? Especially for felt-tip liners. I might do a review on this later, because I hear it's perfect for drawing thick and thin lines as well as drawing "fake bottom lashes" haha. Let's see if it lives up to expectations.
The next purchase is another dull one. A simple matte bronzer to replace my Victoria's Secret one which is slowly running out. This bronzer, Face Color Corset #5 in Tight Shading Corset looked strikingly similar so I thought I'd try it out.
Nothing much to say about this except that it's a straightforward face contouring powder. It's a perfect way to finish a look for just that added facade of put-togetheredness (is that a word?). In all honesty, this is one of the few shades in Etude House's arsenal that I think I can actually pull off. I'm pretty sure the rest of Etude House's blushes are good, but I don't have the skill, capability and confidence to try them out just yet. GUYS! URGE ME TO BE MORE ADVENTUROUS PLEASE D:
The last purchase, but by far the one I was most excited about was Etude House's Goodbye Pore Ever Pore Primer Stick. I've been looking for this one for ages, and I managed to snag the very last one from the boutique. What does it do? I think the infograph on it's packaging does a pretty good job of telling you what exactly it does haha.
"Solid stick primer masks pores to subdue sebum and improve makeup coverage"
Basically it fills in pores and smoothens skin without clogging it, and if you have bumpy skin in some areas like I do, it acts like some sort of thin magical primer that almost makes my skin look like I've polished it. I'm definitely planning to do a more in-depth review of this one in the future so watch out for it, because damn, this product is a miracle worker haha. No wonder it's always sold out.
I almost came close to getting a free water tumbler as a freebie for my purchases, but I wasn't exactly willing to go the extra mile for another item, so I settled for a mouse pad. Who cares, right? It has SHINee on it haha.
That's it for now. Stay tuned for my reviews on my purchases (I might even do a tutorial!) and if you'd like to request a review, please do so! Also, please recommend some products you'd like me to try. I'd love to give them a shot.
Ada, signing out.
