FOTD: Everyday Peach

Sunday, December 09, 2012

Whew~ This one has to be one of my first well-executed FOTDs. Or at least the best documented one. Honestly, the hardest part about preparing this FOTD was finding good lighting. I had to look for a nice natural light source, and it took several shots to get this one. The rest was fairly rudimentary. It's a simple look - nothing flashy. It's almost like what I wear everyday with a little added intensity.

IMO it's perfect for normal days when you want to look cute, fresh and put together without much effort.

Eyes
Etude House's Drawing Show Dot Liner is really starting to grow on me. I'm usually one who prefers gel liners to liquid liners but I find it's a lot more convenient to do my liner with one swipe (and execute touch ups) with a nice pen liner. I used neutral matte shades from my E.L.F. 100-Piece palette but dusted the center of my lid with  a little iridescent pearl white for some dimension. I'm not a fan of liner under the eyes unless it's a really dramatic look so I settled for one coat of my Maybelline New York The MAGNUM Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara (whew, that was long. Why do these things always have such long names!?). I kept my brows natural and just filled in a bit of the gaps with a light brown from the same E.L.F palette.

Face
My face is my basic everyday face with theFACEshop's Aqua Tinted BB Cream applied over a primed face with Etude House's Goodbye Pore Ever Pore Primer Stick and then fixed with my Christian Dior DiorSnow Pure Translucent Makeup powder. For my undereyes, which are especially apparent in this picture, I applied just a dab of my Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer. The peachy blush and subtle bronzer are the ones that come in the 2011 Victoria's Secret Hello Bombshell! Makeup Kit. The blush has a bit of shimmer to it, thus the glitter in the picture.

If you're wondering why my face is so smooth in these shots, it's because I had my camera's smooth skin function on x_x I hope it's not too far off from my natural skin.

Lips
When it comes to my lips, I am admittedly very lax with them. Just a bit of balm and a smack of Etude House's Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk and I'm basically set. My lips aren't that fussy in that way haha.

That's basically it. I'm planning on doing less conventional FOTDs soon, but thought I should start with something simple that I do almost everyday. If you guys want more info on any of the products I used, please feel free to drop me a line.

Thanks. Minsan akala ko di bagay sa akin ang color, dahil ang light nga niya, pero after awhile you get used to it :) Maganda talaga mga nude na lippies :)

BB Cream is a great substitute for foundation IMO- definitely a good investment. And the lipistick is my fave. It's so battered and used it's barely recognizabled haha

hey amanda! sorry for the late reply. I had a few deadlines to finish before I could catch up on blogger. This was a scheduled post so I actually wasn't expecting this much feedback so soon This is me on self-control mode haha. I'll go check it out right away~ Thanks!

haha. I originally made it this way to save up on picture space because having a separate picture for each aspect makes it look so crowded. I thought this way, I have everything on one pic :P I'm glad it's aesthetically pleasing to you guys as well haha. Thanks for the pickup line as well LOL. made me smile haha.

lol, not really. I think it's the lighting. Everyone looks gorgeous under good lighting. I think I caught my lips on a good day when I shot this. Unfortunately the lipstick only looks THIS good when your lips are super hydrated to begin with. On normal days I have to let my balm settle for a good 10 minutes before I can apply this and get the same effect :) But yeah, the color and opacity of the lipstick is really something o_o if you only knew how pigmented my actual lip color was, you'd be amazed at how well the lipistick covers it up

Thanks caro :P It's a look anyone can pull off :)

Hey Nikki~ Thanks for following. Muted looks are my specialty, especially since makeup isn't really the norm with girls around my institute haha. But I can't really help myself - it's like a passion :P Thus this cute subtle look was born. I'll be sure to stop by and follow. thanks again~

hahaha sorry. I'll try to make more gender neutral posts :P thanks for the compliment though :3

Ada Agupitan said...

It looks like a lot product-wise, but I use very little of each, so it's not that much at all :)

Thanks Sapphire <3 Sometimes less is more :)) even though you have to use a buttload of diverse products to achieve it :P
