Trust (no, not the condom)
Monday, September 29, 2008
Woohoo, more rambling about myself and observations in life. I hope you're not tired yet.

Well, today was interesting. Despite being the day right before the first day of perio, things were pretty un-hectic. Practically all our classes today were breaks. Health was a "break". Bio was a "break". Comsci was a "break", and then there was homeroom.

Homeroom was a BREAK in a whole new sense.

Sir Chuckie set up a homeroom activity for the whole class. An EGG TOSS.

The activity was designed to build "trust" within a unit, feeling free enough to throw the egg and depend on your partner to catch it. In other words, we were all screwed.

My partner was Goma. The day before, I got him as a last minute partner for the toss. The conversation in itself made me laugh.

ada: crap wala akong partner/egg
Jose Maria Hizon: ha?
Jose Maria Hizon: ako nga rin e
Jose Maria Hizon: tayo na?
ada: :))

So yeah, I ended up tossing eggs with Goma. No biggy. We didn't last long, but it was fine. At least the egg didn't burst into one of our faces. I'm thankful for that.

THANKS GOMA :D

As the game went on, more and more casualties came into focus and our class was the perfect picture of what scholars would look like if they were mixed into custard batter, with added LABGOWNS! Needless to say, some of the eggs weren't as fresh as they were thought to be and unavoidably, some pairs had to pay the price.

The most picture-perfect casualties had to be Cat's and Arvin's. It didn't help that Cat's labgown was Gorio's. In the end, she had to change into a t-shirt 3 sizes larger than hers. I'm amazed at how stylish she can look in such an oversized shirt. Prettiness pays.

As for Arvin - Despite being in one of the two last teams standing (Tei-Arvin, Nixxx-Luna), the egg had to fall eventually, and as all things that go must up come down. The egg came down alright - Right into Avin's head.

We laughed our butts off. Hey, at least you can say his hair got a little boost of protein. Eggs are good for the hair, so it wasn't much of a problem. Nothing a bit of shampoo from the Coop couldn't fix.

At the end of it all, Luna and Nixxx's team stood triumphant- the Egg Tossers of the year! And all in all, we had two major casualties, lots of injuries and an amazing Homeroom class. While waiting for the bell to ring, we resorted to amusing ourselves with basketball/Frisbee and watching Rb playing their HR games.

The period after, Sir Manoop dismissed us right after asking for our contact numbers and the period after that, Ma'am Bernal was nowhere to be seen.

As you can see, it was a very inconsequential day.

P.S. Look what I got as a pasalubong from Goma!

Quite appropriately, Isabel suggested I name it GOMA-BEAR (a twist of Gummy-bear). So now I have Goma-bear to add to my overflowing bed of nighttime stuffed toys. Joy <3

The author is this blog is part scholar and part fangirl - a quite intriguing mix. Fueled by passions of culture and art and everyday living, all this girl wants to do is to break free and get out. One day, the author hopes to be able to form an individualistic future, centered on her interests (drawing, web design, Japan and Johnny's Jimusho) and the precious ones in her life.
